Worship
As Christians following ‘A Methodist Way of Life’, sharing together in worship is important to us. Both in-person and online, we read and reflect on the Bible, pray, sing and share words together
Sunday Worship
On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month worship is at 10.30am at both Walcot Methodist Chapel (see map) and Southdown Methodist Church Centre, (see map).
On the 4th Sunday of the month, we worship all together at 10.30am, alternating between the two sites. If there is a 5th Sunday we usually have a special themed service at one of the sites – or elsewhere! Here are the 4th/5th Sundays coming up:
- Sunday 27 October – ‘Worship Together’ at Walcot.
- Sunday 24 November – ‘Worship Together’ at Southdown
- Sunday 29 December – Christmas ‘Worship Together’ at Walcot
- Sunday 26 January – Cafe-style ‘Worship Together’ at Southdown
Holy Communion
Holy Communion takes place monthly at both worship centres, usually on the 1st or 2nd Sunday of the month. Everyone is welcome to come forward to receive the bread and wine.
Gluten-free bread and non-alcoholic wine is served at both our worship sites.
Morning Prayer
On the 1st Sunday of the month, there is also Morning Prayer at 9am at Walcot Chapel (in the downstairs hall). This is a short reflective service with prayers and music. It is followed by a simple breakfast.

Midweek
Prayers In and Around Bath
A weekly, online prayer gathering on Fridays at 10am on Zoom. Each session lasts about 20 minutes with the opportunity to chat afterwards. If you’d like to join, please contact us for the login details. Summer break from Friday 19 July. Resumes Friday 6 September.
Each week we hear and reflect on a passage from scripture. Our prayers focus on one local topic, our church, a step from A Methodist Way of Life, a national or international topic and prayers from the Methodist Prayer Handbook.
Celtic Prayer
Half an hour of prayer and stillness on Wednesdays 1pm at Southdown.
Prayers are based on the Celtic Daily Prayer liturgy from the Northumbria Community.
